Huacheng Square (花城广场) also name flower city square, located in Zhujiang New Town's CBD, is now the largest square and a famous sightseeing and shopping destination in Guangzhou. This square is 250 meters width, with a total area of around 560,000 square meters. Taking a stroll at the Huacheng Square one can appreciate the idyllic-like surroundings and the splendid and grand view of the Canton Tower that along the Pearl River.
Mall of the World
Underneath Huacheng Square is a 150,000 square-meter underground shopping mall, the “Mall of the World” (花城汇), run by Hong Kong group Lan Kwai Fong. The three-leveled underground network also contains a large parking lot and grants access to Metro lines 3 and 5.
Designed by English architect Zaha Hadid, Guangzhou Opera House features a Round Double- Gravels style. It is steel-structured and stands out prominently along the Pearl River. The glorious opera house is composed of a grand theater, ante hall, multi-functional hall, underground garage, and numerous supporting facilities.

Situated on the edge of the river in Zhujiang New Town, the new Guangdong Museum, which opened last week, has been a triumphant success. Thousands of visitors have already flocked to witness the impressive building, with its fascinating exhibitions.
The museum has on display over 166,000 items arranged across more than 20,000-square-meters of exhibition area. Like the previous Guangdong Museum, access is free to all three parts of the museum – Lingnan history, natural history and art. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm.
Tips: Tickets are free, but visitors are required to present their ID cards or passports to gain access to the museum. There is a limit on the amount of viewers each day.
The Guangzhou Library, established by the Guangzhou Municipal Government (GMG), was created for the benefit of the public’s welfare, and to serve as a cultural and educational institution. The Library’s services are based on collecting, organizing, and housing all categories of written knowledge and information including paper-based materials, audio-visual materials, and digital materials. The library offers lending materials, reference and information services, exhibitions and lectures, art appreciation, cultural exhibits, Internet services, public education services, research, and spaces for communication.
The Second Children's Palace of Guangzhou
The Second Children's Palace of Guangzhou covers an area of 16,530 square meters with a construction area of 46,008 square meters, and has 7 stories with a total of over 140 rooms; the first story functions as an entrance hall. Then, the 2nd to the 6th stories function as educational classrooms, including a computer room, art room, calligraphic room, chorus room, and dancing room. The 7th and final story serves as an international communication hall which can hold up t 20,000 visitors at the same time.
A new landmark in Guangzhou, the Guangzhou International Financing Center has 103 stories and stands 440 meters high above the ground. It infuses offices, hotels, recreation, and entertainment as one, and it has becomes the totem of Guangzhou commerce.
Haixinsha Asian Games Park
Haixinsha Asian Games Park hosted the prestigious opening and closing ceremonies of the Guangzhou Asian Games. It was officially opened to visitors on January 1, 2011.
On the surface, it is car and bike free pedestrian area with parks, ponds and fountain, making it a popular destination area for locals and tourists. Especially in the evening, the view of the Canton Tower and the other buildings in the Zhujiang New Town CBD with all the lights decoration is remarkable.
