Fares and tickets Of Guangzhou Metro

The subway utilizes a stage fare system. The longer the journey the more you pay. For the first four kilometers, the ticket fare is CNY2. During 4 kilometers to 12 kilometers, passengers pay CNY1 for each additional 4 kilometers. Passengers could buy the ticket (like Plastic Coin) through the TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) by using coins. If you have no Chinese Coins, you may change it in the Service Counter of each station. Once a coin has been bought you go through the ticket gates by placing the coin on top of the pad and taking it with you. When leaving a station you need to insert the coin into the slot, which will then disappear and the gate will open.
